AI avatar video compared

ReVidGen vs HeyGen

HeyGen is a mature, well-resourced avatar product with a large stock avatar library, interactive video and a real enterprise story. If avatar video is the only thing you need and you want the biggest library of ready-made presenters, it is a reasonable buy. ReVidGen is the better fit when the videos are long, when you need voice, dubbing, shorts, images and ads out of the same budget, or when per-minute avatar cost is what decides whether the project happens at all.

Where ReVidGen is the better choice

Long videos are affordable, not just possible

HeyGen's Business plan will render 60 minutes, but it costs $149/month plus $20 per seat. On ReVidGen a 60-minute render is available on every paid plan, starting at $12. If your content is lectures, training modules or full webinars rather than 30-second social clips, that difference decides whether the work is viable.

One budget covers ten studios

HeyGen credits buy avatar video and translation. The same ReVidGen credits also buy voice cloning, dubbing, shorts, bulk images, story videos, whiteboard explainers, podcasts and product ads — so a month heavy on voiceover and light on avatars does not strand a subscription you already paid for.

Unlimited custom avatars

HeyGen allows one custom avatar on Creator and Pro, and five on Business. ReVidGen takes any photo, as many as you like, on any paid plan — which matters when you are producing for several presenters, clients or brands.

Where HeyGen is the better choice

A far larger stock avatar library

HeyGen ships 500+ ready-made avatars. If you want a professional presenter without sourcing or licensing a photograph, that is genuinely faster than starting from your own image.

Interactive and real-time avatars

HeyGen offers interactive avatar experiences and a streaming avatar API for live use cases. ReVidGen renders video files; it does not do real-time conversational avatars.

Enterprise maturity

LMS integrations, multi-workspace management, established security review processes and a longer track record. For a large organisation with a procurement process, that is a real advantage and worth paying for.

Common questions

Is ReVidGen actually cheaper than HeyGen?
At the same $29/month, HeyGen's 600 credits render about 85 minutes on Avatar III or 37 minutes on Avatar IV. ReVidGen's 3,200 credits render about 177 minutes on Express or 106 on Studio — and the same credits also cover voice, dubbing, shorts and images. Both sets of figures come from the published pricing pages linked below.
Can I move from HeyGen without redoing my avatars?
ReVidGen builds avatars from a photograph rather than a proprietary enrolment, so you can upload the same source images. Voice clones need re-recording, because voice models are not portable between platforms.
Which has better avatar quality?
That depends on the source photo and the use case, and anyone claiming a universal answer is selling something. Both have free tiers — render the same script on both and judge it yourself.
